Representatives of the National Coordinating Committee (NCC) and the DPRK Humanitarian Country Team (HCT) travelled together to Musan and Yonsa counties and Hoeryong City between 18 and 23 November to jointly review the status of the humanitarian response to the floods which devastated the area in early September.

Humanitarian agencies in DPRK have mobilized US$ 12 million to meet urgent needs in the areas of health, nutrition, food security, shelter, education and water, sanitation and hygiene. The mission found that great progress had been made in reconstructing damaged homes and key public institutions but that urgent needs remain, in particular in the areas of nutrition and food security; health and essential medicines; rehabilitation of water networks and access to potable water; land rehabilitation; and disaster risk reduction. Full findings can be read in the joint mission report.
